How do I report spam/phishing?

If you receive a suspicious email please make sure that you report the email in order to improve our email detection features. Do not just delete the email.


There are two ways to report suspicious emails, depending on what is available on your Jacobs computer:


Report with Proofpoint

  1. Select the email in your list. Do not download pictures or attachments from the email or select any links
  2. Select Proofpoint for Outlook from the top ribbon under the "Home" tab
  3. Select Report Suspicious and follow the prompts on screen

  4. Select Proofpoint from Outlook on the top ribbon and select "Block Sender". This will also delete the email for you.


Without Proofpoint

Please only report emails this way if Proofpoint for Outlook is not installed on your machine

  1. Right click the suspicious email
  2. Select Junk > Block Sender
  3. Confirm using the prompt. This will automatically move the suspicious email into your junk folder
